On the left is the final proposal for my app. As you can see I've had a complete style overhaul and done away with the primary and secondary style colour scheme. The reason I have done this is after receiving feedback it was clear that the colour scheme gave an impression of the app being very circus like and people didn't take its concept seriously.

The aim of my app is bring back the idea of community and allows people to share real time information, events or anything amazing that their area has done for everyone and fellow locals to find out.

The colour scheme now represents the app considerably better than the previous. It has simple shapes and form with a basic colour palette of purples, grey and white which I and others thinks works much better.

There are various elements to the app and there are several which create its wire frame, these are -

+The maps - There are 4 maps. One of Britain, Scotland, Wales and England. Each map is then further divided into areas for the user to select.

+Bystander logo - You'll notice in the top corner of each page the logo is present (apart from the topic's because each individual topic page will then have the logo in the corner) the corner is the menu for the entire app. When clicked on the menu drops down on the left hand side and gives you the following options - homepage, favorites, maps, topics, search and account.

+Each user has there own account which offers them the ability to have all there preferences remembered. For example at the bottom of each page you'll see hearts. The hearts are are favorites panel. For ease of use the user can just click on the hearts and each heart is a link to one of their favorite topics for there region (The region they've set as a preference via their account).

+After doing extensive research on current news applications and consumer feedback 11 categories were formed. These categories cover a multitude of bases and every story, event and piece of information has a place.

+ There is also a search function which pops down from the Bystander logo. This enables users to search through posts. When a post is published a user will add tags/ keywords which will be used to order and find a article that a user searches for.

Above is the site map for my app. It is all all connected to the central hub which is the menu that you navigate around the app with.
I am currently reading Stanfords guide to ios7 app development. I'm reading about how to successfully link elements with little success when I execute it. The technical side of this app is still on going. I have elements which require very specific code one very good example is the fact that my app requires accounts. I need to create a self writing code so that when a user sets up an account the code is written for the account and also the account preferences.

BUT if you scroll up and down the page really fast and look at one picture and then the next that's how the pages would transition . . .
Evaluation
There are some elements that I feel went well and some that I feel were unsuccessful now in relation to the outcome. Half way through the project I realised that the current style didn't reflect the audience I was targeting the app at. If you look at the topic icons they don't have the same style as all the other examples and this is down to two reasons. One, being that the style of the icons is very cartoon like and bold with think dense lines which is the complete opposite to what the other examples look like. If I were to further develop the app (Which I will) I will completely start again with the icons but still keep the same topics just change the pictograms. I also had a technical issue with the picotgrams, the hue and saturation changed itself then wouldn't revert after multiple hours of trying. I'm pleased with the concept and think it works really well at achieving what I set out to achieve.I think that the new colour scheme works well and complements the concept.
